The West\u00adstar Group has partnered with Rocket Tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Pty Ltd (RTI) in a joint ven\u00adture (JV) that is expec\u00adted to unlock com\u00admer\u00adcial oppor\u00adtun\u00adit\u00adies worth more than RM42 bil\u00adlion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The part\u00adner\u00adship, through West\u00adstar Defence Indus\u00adtries Sdn Bhd, will see the two com\u00adpan\u00adies estab\u00adlish JV entit\u00adies in Malay\u00adsia and Aus\u00adtralia to develop sov\u00ader\u00adeign aerospace and defence cap\u00adab\u00adil\u00adit\u00adies, deep\u00aden\u00ading bilat\u00aderal cooper\u00ada\u00adtion in advanced tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies while sup\u00adport\u00ading longterm indus\u00adtrial and eco\u00adnomic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The JV agree\u00adment (JVA) was signed by The West\u00adstar Group founder and group man\u00adaging dir\u00adector Tan Sri Dr Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim and RTI founder Allan James Payne at the National Con\u00adven\u00adtion Centre in Can\u00adberra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sign\u00ading was wit\u00adnessed by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul, Defence Min\u00adis\u00adter Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nor\u00addin and High Com\u00admis\u00adsioner to Aus\u00adtralia Datin Paduka Shar\u00adrina Abdul\u00adlah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Syed Azman said: \u201cThis Joint Ven\u00adture Agree\u00adment reflects a long-term com\u00admit\u00adment towards build\u00ading sov\u00ader\u00adeign aerospace and defence cap\u00adab\u00adil\u00adit\u00adies, cre\u00adat\u00ading high-value indus\u00adtries and strength\u00aden\u00ading tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgical col\u00adlab\u00ador\u00ada\u00adtion between Malay\u00adsia and Aus\u00adtralia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the agree\u00adment, the parties will focus on the man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ading and assembly of integ\u00adrated defence sys\u00adtems, civil\u00adian satel\u00adlite plat\u00adforms and spe\u00adcial\u00adised gov\u00adern\u00adment satel\u00adlite solu\u00adtions with local design and con\u00adtent. They will also provide rocket test\u00ading, cer\u00adti\u00adfic\u00ada\u00adtion and main\u00adten\u00adance, repair and over\u00adhaul ser\u00advices, while devel\u00adop\u00ading orbital and sub-orbital launch cap\u00adab\u00adil\u00adit\u00adies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The part\u00adner\u00adship will also sup\u00adport work\u00adforce devel\u00adop\u00adment through tech\u00adnical edu\u00adca\u00adtion, industry train\u00ading and research and devel\u00adop\u00adment part\u00adner\u00adships with aerospace and defence uni\u00adversit\u00adies in Malay\u00adsia and Aus\u00adtralia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Payne said the part\u00adner\u00adship marks an import\u00adant step in advan\u00adcing regional aerospace and defence innov\u00ada\u00adtion through inter\u00adna\u00adtional col\u00adlab\u00ador\u00ada\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
